Working Relationally with the Adolescent in Group

Psychoanalytic group therapy may be effective with poorly communicating, resistant, or antisocial adolescents. I describe ways of thinking about and modes of working with this population, utilizing and extending Bion’s model of the ‘container-contained’ to include a contemporary, relational perspective.
