The Deadly Embrace: An Approach to Abusive Relationships

Many of the patients referred to NHS groups are involved in abusive relationships. This article seeks to examine the nature of such relationships through the literature of psychoanalysis and psycho-therapy and to put forward the proposal that heterogeneous groups provide a good opportunity to look at making changes in such relationships.
